Daisy

Daisy watercolour painting

Story

Before moving to the Okanagan, I lived in Coquitlam. Life there was very different, with much less wild space than I enjoy today. Still, there was a large park where my dog and I walked every morning, no matter the weather.

After our walks, we'd often lie in the grass together. Looking closely one day, I noticed tiny daisies only about a quarter of an inch across. Using the macro feature on my phone, I captured a photograph that revealed a world I'd never really seen before.

That photo became the inspiration for this painting. It was one of the first pieces I created when I decided to take my art more seriously, and it remains one of my personal favorites.
